ABOUT me

Writing was never my passion till I began my first book. And now I find myself with my laptop trying to weave a story the moment I am back home from office, during weekends, and whatever little time I get in hotel rooms and airport lounges during travel. 

Currently working in a leadership role in a large Information Technology MNC, I am a sales professional by accident. Wanting to be an IAS officer like any other student from Bihar in the 1980s and early 1990s, primarily to live up to the expectations of almost everyone in the family, near or extended, I took admission in Hansraj College, Delhi University to study Economics. A week into the classes and a few unfortunate interactions made me take the unwise decision of taking the train back once the results of entrance examinations for engineering colleges started coming in. Admitted initially to Regional Engineering College, Surat (now NIT, Surat), I chose to study Mechanical Engineering in Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi. 

Scared of using computers in my college, where I made every attempt to remain away from the CAD/CAM laboratory, I now sell IT Solutions, and with reasonable success. Strangely, I have been doing this for more than twenty five years and am still not bored.

Brought up in Dhanbad, a place I relate to a lot, I have been unlike any ‘Dhanbadwalla’. And mind you, I say this with the knowledge that most of the people from Dhanbad are not associated with Mafia.

I completed my schooling from De Nobili, a school run by Jesuit Priests, where I was awarded the ‘Most Representative Student Award’ for the outgoing batch. Not only did I get an all-round splendid education in De Nobili, but also my wife. 

I live in Bangalore with my wife, Smita. She works as Director in IT Services with a financial MNC.
